With so many people using mobile devices, it should come as no surprise that marketing through mobile devices is essential to get ahead. About 30 percent of web browsing and purchases done online are done through mobile phones, so you have a considerable market to reach out to. Here are fix tips for mobile marketing.
1. QR Codes
The first thing to consider doing if you’re going to reach out to mobile customers is with the use of QR Codes. QR codes are “quick response” which can be scanned from any barcode scanner on the person’s phone or mobile device. Once scanned, they are sent to any website or webpage you choose. You can use it as a marketing tool and have the codes on flyers, business cards or even through different pages of your website or blog. It’s fun for people to use, so they tend to scan any codes they see.
2. Marketing Through Text
Many businesses use texting or SMS messaging through mobile phones for marketing purposes and you can too. Ask for permission to send texts to your customers to communicate, provide customer service or send hem special discounts or coupon codes. By giving them a special benefit, you can really encourage the use of texting and incorporate it into your mobile marketing plan.

You don’t need an extensive app that costs thousands of dollars to program in order to benefit from mobile marketing. You can create a simple app using different programs that offers updates, newsletters or helps get traffic to your website. Find a benefit for your customers to download the app, such as a special discount section only they will have access to.
4. Mobile Advertising
Pay-per-click advertising isn’t just available when someone is using their computer; it can also be used with mobile devices, including phones and tablets. Find an advertising program for searches that result in your business or website, but for people using their mobile devices. This can be anything from PPC to locally targeted ads if you have a local business. About 30 percent of searches on the web are done with mobile devices, so this is a great option.
5. Allow Check-Ins
Lastly, make sure you are encouraging check-ins for your small business. If you have a local business or even an online business, you can add it to sites like Facebook, Google+ and Foursquare for check-ins. This means that when someone is visiting or shopping at your place of business, they can “check in” which then shows to all of their social media friends. Encourage it by offering special deals or discounts to customers who choose to do so.
