Placing A YouTube Video Into A HTML File or Post Introduction To The YouTube Embed Code
In the Tutorials section of the site I have included a video on embedding a file that resides on your server. As many of you will be taking advantage of uploading video to YouTube it is probably a good idea to show you how to place the YouTube Embed code into a HTML file so you can apply that to any of our Template files. This video is not entirely up to date but the images below should guide you to where the code is now located for a YouTube video once you upload it or choose one you wish to use.
Click The Thumbnails To View The Images
Right below the video you will find the 'SHARE' button which will reveal the URL for your video. While this good for embedding your video into your Blog posts it doesn't help with embedding it into a html file or template. The second image reveals what appears after you select the 'EMBED' button below that URL.
You now are faced with a choice of using the default code for an iFrame or selecting Use Old Embed Code as talked about in the video. For me I prefer the older embed code because I know it will work in both older and newer browsers and you can now go ahead and copy that code to complete the task as it applies to pasting into a HTML file.
Of course if you just wish to place a video in a post on your blog you would place the Embed Code (iFrame or Old Embed Code) using the HTML source TAB in the text editor. When you switch back to the visual editor you can center the video like you would with text.
I hope you were able to follow along with this but if it does create some confusion just leave a comment below so we can sort it out.
