It's Game On Tennis Star Jumps The Net
We're big devotees of the Facebook Like button here on this site, which is why we wish to share this new advert featuring World of Tennis superstar Andy Murray.
Having no other focus other than himself and the Facebook Like button we're amazed at the pure advertising genius behind it. It's no different than any other marketer using Social Media for advertising.
We're all for integrating social media within the TELEVISION adverts as well as having a unified approach to marketing methods, but we're fairly sure that others there won't be so pleased. As marketers ourselves though wouldn't we love a well oiled machine like this.
So let's take a look at what the fuss is all about shall we. Here is the Ad that's supposedly causing so much fuss.
You probably do not have the Flash Player (Get Adobe Flash Player Here) installed for your browser or the video files are misplaced on your server!
Are You Ready For Internet Television
The only thing that you can presume is that the individuals creating this content understood the World's obsession with Facebook at this very moment in history. With it's focus on Andy Murray, this will certainly receive quite an amount of attention on television. The additional element focusing on the Facebook phenomona is a brilliant marketing ploy. I suppose me writing about the genius in it functions in their favor to some degree.
Some will say this is literally the most frustrating television advert they've ever had the displeasure to view since it does absolutely nothing else except say "We Love The Facebook Like Button". And there should be something closer to important they could possibly tell us regarding Andy Murray. After all he is one of the most likeable characters in tennis. But I say it's more a case of "We Love Andy Murray" and Facebook let's us show we identify eith him. With nearly half a million fans on there it speaks volumes for his popularity.
Some might say the only winner in all of this is Facebook which is basically obtaining free prime time marketing. But I go beyond that and say the merchandisers and manufacturers in the industries surrounding tennis know the value in attracting Andy Murray fans to his Facebook Fan Page. Let us know what your opinion of the Ad is and if you've seen it yet.
