Who Else Is Using Video Email Marketing What Are They Saying In These Survey Results
It appears both video marketing and video email marketing are being used all over the place if this latest report from The Web Video Marketing Council and Flimp Media is anything to go by. It would appear 81% of those surveyed say they’ve used it in their online marketing campaigns. On looking further you can see a split where 67% posted to their own sites while 61% spread there’s via social media.
The results for those who have tried video email indicate half have used video email marketing and 88% of them say it impacted positively on their outcomes.
Methodology Used To Establish Just Who Is Using Video Email Marketing
The survey was taken by senior marketing personnel via the Web Video Marketing Council website, newsletters sent by email, email databases of their partners, paper newsletter, and promotions in connection with research partners of the Video Marketing Council. Here is a breakdown of their results.
In total there were 16 questions and responses were taken via a secure online survey. The analysis was carried out using a programmed database response method. 272 people from various industries responded. Of those just over a third were from companies with between 101 and 1,000 employees. The remainder came from larger companies employing over 1,000 people. Here is the breakdown.
How Were They Using Video Email Marketing?
The report defined what types of online video marketing and why it was used. The results varied including posting to their own website, social media, email marketing, generating leads or communicating over the companies internal network. This is where my recommended resource Talk Fusion with video email and the included Conference Room excels.
The results of the survey have so impressive, approximately two thirds of respondents say they will increase their video marketing budgets for this year and close to one fifth thought it would remain stable while one third said they may drop video marketing. Statistically this may show that one third may not be using the marketing methods correctly or simply not receiving the results they had hoped to achieve.
It appears though, that a rift may have developed. Three quarters of those surveyed share the opinion that video marketing increased their CTR where the rest say they’re not sure or don’t really know. In terms of converting to sales, approximately three quarters say that video marketing increases purchase intent/conversion where a small percentage say the opposite. In real terms though, that is a small number.
Email Video Marketing
Almost all email clients or services wont’ allow the direct playing of video right in the email, except of course Google in the form of Gmail and YouTube (why are we not surprised). Of those surveyed, close to two thirds think video email marketing linked to a landing page is the best method. With Talk Fusion the additional layer here is in branding yourself using a personally designed template that acts as the opening of your sales funnel.
This survey is linked to established connections in a client database which is after the branding has occurred. Linking to your social media of video sharing network occurs on your personally branded email template. A very small number of people attempt to use embedded video (Gmail and YouTube) in email but even less are using animated GIF. While most email clients support animated GIFs, Outlook 2007 does not.
What Are The Barriers To Using Video Email Marketing?
This is what’s interesting about this report in terms of any major barrier to online video or video email marketing, 41% cited assets was their problem while one quarter said they saw implementing a system as problematic.
But really how hard can it be to just drop a link to a page in email? Maybe the problem with implementing any sort of system is in deciding how to do it? WebCam’s are getting pretty good these days for a quick message. In terms of Corporate Identity it may not be sufficient but to implement a call to action they are. Video production does not have to be pricey or the implementing of the video email marketing plan if you use Talk Fusion. How many of your staff are conversant with MS Power Point? Quite a few I imagine.
